CRITICAL REVIEW (by Ebele Iloka)
Puzzles is an excellent children's book which addresses the emotional impact sickle cell disease has on a child. The main character, Cassie, a 9 year old girl, expresses various feelings such as frustration in being the shortest in her class and the sadness and anger at missing out on planned activities due to her hospital admissions.

Children who have sickle cell disease ( young defiers ) will be able to understand and relate to some of Cassie's experiences...

This book can allow parents to discuss important concerns and questions relating to sickle cell and how a child may cope and overcome...

The Illustration art is GREAT...Check it out!
