This website contains information that we hope will be helpful to our process of becoming a more empowered sickle cell community. To that end, we have developed a number of ways for people to communicate with one another in order to exchange data, thoughts, opinions and ideas.
 
First there is the BULLETIN BOARD.
Sickle Cell bulletin board.This is a place for public listings such as meetings or events, open inquiries or general announcements that anyone who logs on to this site is free to read. People may post responses to messages if they like or send direct e-mail responses.
 
We also have the COOLLIST.

This is a mailing list for which anyone in the sickle cell community can sign up. You will then be able to send e-mail messages to everyone on the list at once, simply by sending it to defiers@coollist.com. You will also receive messages from everyone who sends a letter to the list. This is an excellent way to be part of an ongoing dialogue. Past and current topics have included diet, exercise, alternative or radical treatment therapies and the politics of organizing the sickle cell community. The sign up procedure is simple and easy to follow.
 
As this site continues to grow, we hope to include contributions from members of the sickle cell community throughout the world. Check out what we have to offer, and let us know if there's something you'd like to add. Keep in mind that we will only print responsible, reliable information that is in the spirit of growth and empowerment for the sickle cell community.
